In 1965, David and Charlotte Greenewalt established The David Greenewalt Charitable Trust, from which they personally directed grants in service of the arts, science, education, health care, historical preservation, community services, animal welfare, and the environment. The Trust honors and perpetuates the Greenewalts’ support for small charities working in these mission areas. Although the Trust prioritizes support for organizations in New England and the Mid-Atlantic, it considers proposals from organizations nationwide.
David and Charlotte’s legacy is perpetuated by the Greenewalt Family, who guide the Charitable Trust’s grantmaking. The Charitable Trust is administered by its trustees, Geoffrey Mason and Jennifer Ewing, with the support of the law firm of Choate Hall & Stewart LLP in Boston, Massachusetts.
